A large percentage of our workforce is university alumni, Dragonfly Energy CEO, Denis Phares received an MBA from the institution, and we are proud to work closely with various university departments on internship programs, including participation in the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program.

Development
A large percentage of Dragonfly Energy’s team is made up of Nevada alumni, and we are proud to work closely with various university departments on internship programs, including participation in the Wolf Pack STEM Internship Program in the Fall ’23 semester.
Dragonfly Energy’s R&D team, specifically, has welcomed many University of Nevada, Reno student interns into the labs to support our research efforts in battery science, materials characterization, and manufacturing processes.
Dragonfly Energy Innovation Award
The annual Sontag Entrepreneurship Competition focuses on developing the next generation of entrepreneurs held by Nevada’s College of Business – a competition that Dragonfly Energy founders were finalists in back in 2014.
At the completion of each spring semester, students compete for a $50,000 Sontag grand prize to help fund their innovative ideas. The additional $10,000 Dragonfly Energy Innovation Award is also granted to one entrepreneurial participant, with the intention of supporting a unique opportunity for young innovators within our community.
